FAQs

How do I buy from you?

There are a few different ways. Our items are always available through our Shop or can be found locally at A Southern Gathering on Main Street in Columbus, MS.
We do shop updates a few times a year. The best way to be notified is to sign up for our mailing list

.
Do you ship to my country?

Currently we are not able to ship to EU or Northern Ireland due to new regulations.

For all other countries we offer standard shipping that takes anywhere from 1-3 weeks (depending on the destination).

How long will my order take to ship?

Orders typically ship 1-3 days after order Monday through Friday, not including holidays.

Are the glazes food safe?

Yes. All glazes are food safe unless otherwise noted.
Food safety is very important in ceramics. A lot of concerns came from ingredients like lead, which are uncommon today. However, there are still some common ingredients that are questionable. Because of this, I follow best practices and use glazes which are considered stable, fired to maturity, and use low concentrations of oxides. Leach tests are conducted to ensure their resistance to acid. We regularly use our products allowing me to check that none of the factors change with regular use.

Are they dishwasher safe?

All of our pottery is dishwasher safe. This is how we regularly wash ours. However, if you're concerned about the longevity of your pieces, hand washing is recommended to reduce the likelihood of any damage. Let's face it, dishwashers are rough.

Will unglazed clay stain?

Typically, no. The clay has been fired to vitrification making it essentially waterproof. Most items your pottery comes into contact with will not cause stains (ie, tea, coffee, etc). However, there are some things than can permanently stain it (permanent markers, automotive grease, etc).

Can I return an item?

Generally, yes. More details can be found on our Policies Page.
We want you to be satisfied with your order, so please contact us if there is an issues.

How are the sizes/capacities measured?

The capacity of a mug/cup/tumbler is measured when full to the rim. Each person uses their mug differently, this allows for a universal comparison.
